1:o) Sedan Kongl. Academien d. 4:de i denna månad under voteringen om nya Ledamöter låtit förmärka Sig icke så noga känna Hr. Adjuncten Landerbecks kunskaper i Mathematiska Vetenskaperna, hvilken Hr. Canzli[Rådet] Ferrner till Ledamot proponerat; Så ingaf nu Herr CanzliRådet, för att justifiera Sin proposition, följande utdrag af ett till honom ifrån Dr Nevil Maskelyne,Kongl. Astronome på Observatorium i Greenwich, skrifvet bref af d. 24 Jan. 1783. --- J return you many thanks for your kind remembrance of me Shewn by your favour of the 21 last month, and the inclosed valuable paper, containing a Method of finding Curves from the properties of the Variation of Curvature, by your learned friend Mr Landerbeck, adjunct Professor of Mathematics in the Royal Academy of Upsal. J shall present it immediately to the Royal Society and doubt not they will esteem it a valuable paper, which will be very worthy a place in their Transactions. J beg you will be So good as to present my best respects to M Landerbeck and assure him, that J have received much satisfaction from his learned Memoir and Shall be very happy if he will do me the honour to send the remainder of his thoughts on this Subject to be laid also before the Royal Society, as J perceive he intitles this: Pars prima.
